About
The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) serves as the leading trade association and voice for the U.S. flexible packaging industry. Established in 1950, FPA represents manufacturers of flexible packaging and material/equipment suppliers to the industry. The association's membership includes small, medium, and large converters and suppliers that collectively represent approximately seventy percent of the value-added flexible packaging industry. FPA provides advocacy, education, and networking opportunities for industry professionals involved in producing flexible packaging from paper, plastic, film, aluminum foil, or combinations of these materials. Their products include bags, pouches, labels, liners, wraps, rollstock, and other flexible packaging solutions. The association has witnessed significant industry growth from $400 million in the early 1950s to over $42 billion today. The organization focuses on promoting and protecting the benefits and sustainability advantages of flexible packaging, providing market research and industry data to help members benchmark performance and identify trends. FPA also offers representation and advocacy before government agencies, retailers, customers, and consumers, while facilitating educational programs and networking events including their Annual Meeting and Fall Executive Conference. Through publications, reports, and advocacy initiatives, FPA works to advance the competitive business climate for its members and the broader flexible packaging industry.
