Donald's Machine Works Ltd is a family-owned machine shop and metal fabrication company that has been serving Vernon, British Columbia and surrounding areas since 1981. Founded by Doug Donald and now operated by third-generation owner Shawn Donald alongside partner Andrew Blake-Knox, the company represents three generations of metalworking expertise dating back to the 1940s. The company operates as a full-service machine shop specializing in custom machining, metal fabrication, welding, and structural steel construction. Their capabilities include steel and aluminum fabrication, custom welding services, drive shaft parts and repair, and installation of structural steel and other metals. Donald's Machine Works maintains an inventory for steel, aluminum, and other metal sales, providing comprehensive solutions from material supply through finished fabrication. Equipped with modern technology including a 14' x 400-ton press brake and 6' x 12' CNC plasma table, the company delivers precision metalworking services. They hold important certifications including CSA W47.1 for steel welding and CSA W47.2 for aluminum welding, ensuring quality standards for structural applications. The facility employs 23 full-time staff members and serves clients throughout the Okanagan Valley region including Vernon, Kelowna, and Salmon Arm. Additional services include crane truck operations for material handling and installation support.
