About
The Aluminum Association of Florida (AAF) serves as the premier professional trade association representing aluminum contractors, fabricators, and aluminum-related businesses throughout Florida. Founded in 1974 by ten industry pioneers in Pinellas County, the organization emerged from a critical need to address regulatory challenges and has since evolved into a vital advocate for the aluminum specialty structure industry. AAF provides comprehensive support to its members through professional development, industry advocacy, and regulatory guidance. The association's contractor members offer diverse services including pool enclosures, vinyl and acrylic enclosures, windows, awnings, railings, storm shutters, sunrooms, and siding. The organization operates through regional chapters across Florida, including Southeast, Gulf Coast, Southwest, Treasure Coast, Mid Florida, Suncoast, Nature's Coast, and Northeast regions. The association has played a pivotal role in shaping industry standards and regulations, including the creation of the Specialty Structure Contractor license category in the late 1980s and contributing to the development of the Florida Building Code in 2002. AAF continues to advocate for member interests through legislative efforts, technical expertise, and professional networking opportunities. Membership categories include contractors, professional members (engineers and architects), and UMDA members who manufacture, distribute, or sell industry-related products and services.
